Advocate for policies, procedures, programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school and district technology plans and guidelines

I had the opportunity to work with a conservatory of music to determine the direction of future professional development on educational technology for teachers, especially how to make professional development support future BYOD program better. I collected data from teachers who have more than 3 years of teaching experience and analyzed data to understand their needs and concerns. I shared the result with school administrators and advocated for budget plans, policies and programs to support future professional development, such as building up a 1:1 coaching program, PLC and observation system to create a positive climate on educational technology in the school. The stakeholders agreed to put a budget on teachers’ ongoing professional growth to increase digital competencies. They decided to process the needs assessment on PD every semester to determine the next year’s funding strategies and other strategic plans.

In the blog Principals Best Support in Educational Technology PD, I shared my opinion that school administrators should take technology leadership to share the vision with teachers to establish programs, policies, and culture for technology implementation in the school. The EdTech person needs to assist and advocate for implementation and provide strategic suggestions for the school administrators on technology integration plans.
