Coach teachers in and model use of online and blended learning, digital content, and collaborative learning networks to support and extend student learning as well as expand opportunities and choices for online professional development for teachers and administrators
As the EdTech person in a school, it is important to model and coach teachers to use online and blended learning to support and extend student learning. Online and blended learning can strengthen student’s ability of self-regulation in autonomous learning. And digital content can be personalized and collaborative to drive students motivation to achieve personal learning goals. Online professional development and PLN can also benefit teachers to share the experience with peers to gain growth in the profession.
During doing research for my DEL Master’s Degree coursework, I posted a blog introducing Edmodo, the digital platform in which can build collaborative learning networks to support student learning as well as teachers’ professional learning. In my blog, I explained that Edmodo has good features to help educators to upload digital content to extend student learning via blended learning strategy and also they can create various learning groups for students by different topics or projects to increase collaboration. Teachers can find many topics in Edmodo to join global collaboration to learn from worldwide peers. Educators can build PLN based on different needs and interests to strengthen connections with peers to get more chances for online professional development.
