Model effective classroom management and collaborative learning strategies to maximize teacher and student use of digital tools and resources and access to technology-rich learning environments

In the GCP- Global Collaborative Project, I had a class of Balloon Helicopter for my iPad class in Kindergarten. Younger students can get motivated easily when they have a hands-on project. I designed this class for my younger students with the learning goal that they can use iPad as the digital tool to record the learning process and foster their sense of responsibility from collaborative learning and collect digital resources for learning achievements demonstration. I gave my students two roles in the class: photographer and maker. Two of them in one group collaborated and shifted the role. With this collaborative learning strategy, every student got engaged. They made balloon helicopters, launched them in the garden and record videos, and took lots of good pictures. They were excited to use the iPad app: Little Bird Tales to create digital stories for this class which is the best practice on the digital tool they have learned before in the iPad class.
