Coach teachers in and model engagement of students in local and global interdisciplinary units in which technology helps students assume professional roles, research real-world problems, collaborate with others, and produce products that are meaningful and useful to a wide audience

When I taught the iPad class in kindergarten, I explored strategies and digital tools to create a learning environment that supports interdisciplinary authentic learning using an iPad. I tried to make the iPad class to be a supportive class to provide support for other classroom teachers. In the learning process, my students can experience how to research real-world problems, produce products to a wide audience using digital tools they learned from the iPad class. In my blog: Community Engagement Project Reflection I explained how to use Edmodo as an effective interdisciplinary collaboration platform to share recourses and ideas for seeking the connection between iPad class and regular classrooms.

In the EDTC6103 Collaborative Global Project, I collaborated with a maker space teacher to provide my students with a global interdisciplinary lesson: Balloon Helicopter. In this class, my students made their own balloon helicopters and launched them in the garden. They collaborated with peers to record the process using iPad and created a digital story using the digital app on the iPad. They were excited to demonstrate their learning outcomes to a wide audience when we uploaded the digital story to the school LMS. My students got engaged and motivated when they produced meaningful digital products collaboratively to demonstrate their learning practice.
